Selected Aphorisms #9a

The ninth installment in our refreshing new series, version one.

Sometimes a kid’ll say to me “Why is six afraid of seven?” and then I say “Why?” and then the kid says “Because seven eight nine.” Sure, that’s funny for some us, but it’s a little insensitive to people who don’t speak English. For example, “Siete ocho nueve” is entirely meaningless. And don’t even get me started on “Yedi sekiz dokuz.”
