Selected Aphorisms #9b

The ninth installment in our refreshing new series, version two.

Sometimes a kid’ll say to me “Why is six afraid of seven?” and then I say “Why?” and then the kid says “Because seven eight nine.” That might be funny, but it’s also grossly misleading. I did some research and found that seven exhibits absolutely none of the behavior typically associated with suspected cannibals. To go around spreading all these lies about seven eating other numbers – for what, a cheap laugh? – is terrifically irresponsible.
