A Note on the Effort Heuristic

A 2004 study by Kruger et al. reveals that participants, after reading a poem, “provided higher ratings of quality, value, and liking for the work the more time and effort they thought it took to produce.”

A study by the present author, conducted over the course of his adult life, reveals that the participants from the Kruger experiment would make for regrettable dinner guests.
